I’m Ivory Tiffin, an actor, narrator and word nerd based in Los Angeles with Chicago roots. I’m also a recovering Mormon actively deconstructing my own origin story.

I’ve worked 30+ years in Film, Television, Theatre and Voice Over and have ventured into the world of audiobooks. It’s perfect for a homebody like me who is most comfortable in pajamas, and loves people but gets overwhelmed.

SciFi is my first love. As a kid, I identified most with C-3PO’s character. He's so under appreciated! And I dig smart horror, especially body horror and all things zombies. I gravitate toward post-apocalyptic stories; something about burning down a broken world and starting over resonates with me. Even if it’s not what I want IRL, I enjoy the thought exercise. I also love performing nonfiction that explores the natural sciences, challenges gender norms and exposes inequality in all forms.

My gender is fluid and I've been called a chameleon for the ways I shift between the various identities that form a personhood. But at my core, I just feel like ME. I use “she/her” pronouns to honor my lived experience being born into a femme body. I also use “they/them” as it feels more reflective of my internal experience and rejects the gender construct.

My greatest desire is a life free of hierarchies.

Growing up working class, but surrounded by affluence, I’m an astute observer of class inequality. Even though I did not have the privilege of a traditional college education, I consider myself a life long learner. My greatest sadness is that I will never be able to read every book.

I’ve worked everywhere from fast food to stuffy private clubs, from Greek diners to swanky Hollywood steakhouses. And I've also completed my level one Sommelier training. I love performing stories that reveal the underbelly of the restaurant world, the service industry and the plight of the working class.

I adore swearing, can DIY the shit out of anything and am a proud Gen-Xer.

Leaving the Mormon church as a teenager probably saved my life. As I reconcile my origin story, I long to unearth our individual and collective truths, expose the systemic lies we’ve bought into, and tap into our shared humanity.

I’m an advocate for meditation, therapy and time spent in nature. In my personal journey toward wholeness, I take daily “joy walks” with my bulldog/pittie mix, Wilbur. The two of us walk in side by side, intentionally soaking up any bit of beauty we can against the Los Angeles backdrop.
